Acura History

Acura is the first brand, which Honda has gone to the Japanese market. Acura models are based on Hondas, but are more athletic, they have powerful engines and are more luxurious. In the year 1989, Acura introduced the NSX model – sports car with rear-wheel drive. NSX, an acronym for “New Sports Experimental”, announced the first car that could compete with Ferrari and Porsche.

In 1996 they changed the nomenclature brand on alphanumeric introducing production model 3.5 RL, which announced the successor to the Legend. The engine had a power of 225 hp. Unfortunately, the car has not led to spectacular success. In 1999, Acura introduced the 3.2 TL model, which overall dimensions was similar to the 5 Series BMW. Also appeared Acura MDX, which is a luxury SUV. In Europe, the Acura brand cars can buy only on special order dealer network in the UK.
